Life Lately (November 18)

Hi, everyone! How was your weekend?

This weekend Ryan and I visited my family in St. Louis! Surprisingly it snowed in St. Louis!

On Saturday morning, Mom and I went to Strange Donuts to pick up some sweet treats for breakfast. This place has creative and delicious donuts that are probably total calorie and sugar bombs but totally worth it. We cut the donuts into halves so we could sample more—I tried half of the maple bacon, half of the chocolate pumpkin, and a bit of the campfire s’more.

While we were there, Ryan, my sister, and I visited the Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. All the museums in Forest Park are free, and the STL Art Museum has some very beautiful Renaissance and Baroque art. Plus, you can’t beat the view from Art Hill.

Afterwards we went to Schlafly Bottleworks, which has seriously the best beer ever. We sampled their flight of beers, which included the Pale Ale, APA, Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Oatmeal Stout, and seasonal (which was our perennial favorite, Oktoberfest). We also had their hummus platters. Schlafly’s food is as amazing as their beer and if you’re ever in St. Louis I highly recommend going there. I even had my bridal shower there.

Also, check out this awesome unicorn costume my mom got at Target for Charlie:

 Charlie the Unicorn

Yes, he’s Charlie the unicorn. Come to candy mountain, Cha-a-a-r-lie!

I took last week easy on the workouts to recover from the race. It was nice to be able to sleep in!
Monday: 3 mile walk with Charlie and recovery yoga
Tuesday: 2 mile walk with Charlie
Wednesday: Short walk with Charlie and core and upper body weights
Thursday: 3 mile walk with Charlie
Friday: first run back! 3 easy miles in exactly 25 minutes (8:20/mile) plus some core work

Questions of the Day:
What’s your favorite brewery?
Do you dress your pets up in costumes?
