September initiated fall racing season – and it was a strong start for Team Norris Running athletes! September included multiple tune-up races and goal races. Even though some runners still dealt with summer heat, it was a month of breakthroughs and affirmations of hard work paying off.
Mariah ran a 7K race with a strong, fast finish!
Mark ran a 1:28 tune-up half at the New Haven Road Race and a 64-min time at the Bronx 10 miler in preparation for NYCM!
Emma ran a negative split at the Popcorn Panic 5K!
Clarke ran a 10-minute PR in the half marathon!
Marlene raced a smart half marathon on a very hot day!
Karla raced a strong 10K!
Liz ran three speedy legs at Ragnar Reach the Beach!
Jessica ran a sprint tri!
Caroline raced a 5K PR!
Aimee raced the Sunset Ragnar and Paradise Valley 10K!
Nicole raced the Paradise Valley trail 5K as her first postpartum race!
Alexa raced the Disneyland Paris Goofy Challenge!
Marcus ran a strong tune-up half marathon with a negative split!
Sam ran a negative split in a trail 5K and raced an even split 8K in the heat!
Laura placed third in her age group in a Great South Bay Half Marathon!
Lindsey ran a PR of 3:56 at the Berlin Marathon!
Stephanie ran a PR of 4:44 at the Berlin Marathon!
Natalie raced a strong half marathon as a tune-up for her goal race in November!
Many other athletes are putting in the hard work of peak weeks of training for October and November races. I’m excited to see what the next few months bring!
