Life Lately (December 15)

Hi, everyone! How was your weekend?

This past week was less than exciting—I spent about half the week sick in bed with a nasty cold. It is winter cold season, after all. At least sweet Charlie kept me company…while systematically destroying the last of the toys he got last Christmas. Good thing Christmas is almost here!

After barely leaving the house for most of the week, I was super excited when the weekend finally rolled around! On Saturday, Ryan and I went to go see Interstellar, which we had been wanting to see ever since it came out last month. We had practically a private showing since we went to an early matinee show and there was no one else there! The movie was amazing and had us on the edges of our seats the whole time. I loved everything about it—the plot, the acting, the score, and the effects. Definitely a must-see if you haven’t seen it yet!

After a busy, busy weekend last week, we savored a lazy weekend with chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast each day. My mom gifted us with these beautiful Corelle Christmas plates and they’re perfect for adding holiday touches to each meal!

Ryan and I got our Christmas tree on Sunday! Since we live in an apartment we stuck with a small tree, only about five feet tall. Charlie gets weirded out by Christmas trees each year and spent the rest of the evening super concerned about the tree.

Has anyone else noticed that iPhone photos have had way worse quality lately! I guess it’s time to make sure my Nikon is charged all the time!

Since I was sick for most of the week, I skipped a few days of running. The other days I stuck to the treadmill since I wasn’t feeling well and the weather was oddly super humid for most of this week.

Monday: 7 miles on the treadmill, 1:00:00 (8:35/mile) plus 15 minutes of strength training
Tuesday: 4 miles on the treadmill, progressive run (started at 8:50/mile and ended at 7:20/mile), 31:52 (7:58/mile)
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Off
Friday: 3 miles easy on treadmill, 26:58, (8:59/mile)
Saturday: Off
