Lake Sammamish Half Marathon

2017 Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Recap

2017 Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Race Recap

While our times are often measured in hours and minutes, many runners will agree that seconds make a difference. A few difference of seconds on a clock can represent a large amount of passion and grit poured into months of training and the burn and discomfort of racing hard. I have learned to let go of finish times as my primary goal in a race. This is not to say that I don't push myself to run faster and give 100% of my best on race day; quite to the contrary, shifting my focus ...

Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Race Recap 2016 {1:38:40}

March 8, 2016

Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Race Recap 2016

The Lake Sammamish Half Marathon on Saturday, March 5 was my third half marathon. My first half marathon was a 1:46:06 in November 2014 and my second was a 1:43:12 in April 2015. I ran the Lake Sammamish Half, only 16 months after my first half marathon in 1:38:40 (7:32/mile average pace). Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Race Week

Hi, everyone! How was your weekend?  This week was the last week of training and race week for the Lake Sammamish Half Marathon. New to the blog? You can catch up on my training here! Oh, the taper! I find it's a good feeling when a taper leaves me a bit antsy. But as I've said before, it's always ...

Lake Sammamish Half Marathon Training Week 11

Happy Monday, everyone! How was your weekend? This past week transition my Lake Sammamish Half Marathon training from sharpening to taper, so I had less mileage but a couple intense sharpening workouts.  Roughly a year ago was when Ryan and I decided for certain that we wanted to move to the PNW, and this week was one of the weeks where I still marvel at the natural beauty and adventure that the Seattle area has to offer.   New to the blog? You can catch up on my previous weeks ...
